Once upon a time there was a shy Welsh girl from a small village where nothing ever happened. She had a dream to change the world, just like Einstein, and studied physics at university ... Many years later, after gaining an art degree in London, I'm still dreaming of making a difference to peoples lives but through my artwork. I have participated in solo and group exhibitions, created large scale ceramic artwork for public spaces and even been brave enough to paint on television. My current work seeks to capture the beauty, mystery and ephemeral nature of life, from the renewal and transformation of nature to the passage of time with layers of paint and textual marks hidden and partly revealed. I am drawn to the intricacies and complexities of the world, like how a single change can alter the course of reality. I work both in oil paint and mixed media/acrylic, usually painted on wooden panels or stretched canvas. My latest series of angels are created initially with mixed media, acrylic and gold leaf, and finished with oil paints and cold wax for rich, glowing colours a subtle satin sheen.
